Richard Taylor
This winter, the Department of Multifaith Studies and Initiatives at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College began a bi-monthly salon, Praying with Your Feet: Conversations with Spiritually Engaged Social Activists. We invite guests from different religious traditions to talk with students and faculty about their faith and their work in the world.
We began with a Sufi Muslim Sheik from Haifa, Ghassan Manasra who spoke with us about his work for peace. The evening left us all humbled and inspired.
On Feb 11, we will meet with Richard Taylor, a birthright Quaker who became a Roman Catholic at age 49. Dick has been involved in civil rights and social justice activism for over 50 years and will share what he has learned about effective change . The author of five books–most recently Love in Action –and over 90 articles, Dick will talk about what sustains him during difficult times in his church, the topic of one of his most oft cited articles, “Why I am still a Catholic.”

Kristyn Komarnicki
In May, Kristyn Komarnicki, the editor of Prism, the magazine published by Evangelicals for Social Action, will introduce us to the world of progressive evangelical Christianity.
